Exposure of Impacted Canine

Dr. Fokam uses advanced 3D radiographic imaging to locate impacted canines before surgically exposing them. Once exposed, an orthodontic bracket is bonded to the tooth to gradually guide it into proper alignment.
This procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia. Oral or IV sedation is available based on the patient’s comfort and anxiety levels.
Temporary Anchorage Device TADs
Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) are small titanium screws used to provide stable anchorage when certain tooth movements require additional support. They are ideal for correcting midline discrepancies, closing extraction spaces, and repositioning molars.

TADs are often used to supplement or substitute for elastics. As the name implies, they are temporary and will be removed after some months of treatment.
This procedure is generally performed under local anesthesia. Oral or IV sedatives can also be used to achieve a higher state of relaxation depending on the needs of an individual patient.
